Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or significant leadership experience in a kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
  • Leadership abilities and team management skills
  • Certification in Serve Safe Manager
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or significant line cook experience in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and safety standards
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Culinary degree or formal training is a plus
  • Valid Serve Safe Manager certification
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen supervisor role

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep team
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented to high standards of quality and consistency
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to promote growth and maintain team morale
  • Monitor portion control, food cost, and waste reduction efforts
  • Step in and lead the kitchen during the Executive Chef's absence
  • Help create new menu items and specials in collaboration with the Executive Chef
