Job Requirements

  • 1+ years of cooking experience ideally in senior living or a similar high-volume setting
  • A valid Food Handler's Card where required by state regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to professional appearance and safety including wearing a proper uniform slip-resistant shoes and gloves as required

  • Strong communication skills, with expertise in reading recipes, labels, and adjusting serving sizes
  • Commitment to professional appearance and safety, including wearing a proper uniform, slip-resistant shoes, and gloves as required

Job Duties

  • Assisting the Director of Dining in developing a staff schedule for all dining staff and helping find coverage as necessary
  • Serving as a kitchen lead in the absence of the Director of Dining, overseeing daily operations
  • Preparing meals and menu items according to company recipes, using various methods (baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, grilling), and ensuring high standards of food flavor, seasoning, texture, presentation, and temperature
  • Assisting with menu and recipe modification based on food trends, costs, seasonal availability, dietary restrictions, and resident preferences
  • Assisting with managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies to minimize waste
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and sanitary kitchen in line with all food safety guidelines
  • Building positive relationships with residents, their families, and team members
