Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar culinary supervisory role
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle high stress situations calmly

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a professional kitchen
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • expert knowledge of food preparation and culinary techniques
  • ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
  • solid understanding of food cost management and inventory control
  • excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • ability to perform well under pressure and maintain a measured demeanor
  • culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Manages operating standards set by executive chef
  • conducts daily audits of all inventory and storage areas
  • lends guidance and instruction of food preparation
  • educates line associates on proper techniques
  • adheres to directions by executive chef and ensures that all tasks are completed by scheduled due dates
  • adheres to daily ordering needs in accordance with revenue and food cost expectations
  • monitors product usage and waste levels
  • daily administrative responsibilities such as invoicing, weekly scheduling, and bi-weekly payroll audits
  • responsible for any necessary disciplinary measures and performance tracking with executive chef's guidance
  • expedites daily restaurant service by leading line cooks and FOH needs to create the highest level of service for guests
