Job Requirements

  • Food certification required
  • Minimum 3 years working in kitchen leadership capacity
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Ability to read Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience managing food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily culinary operations and ensure compliance with policies, standards and procedures
  • Understand team member positions to perform duties when needed
  • Schedule team members according to business demands
  • Track team member time and attendance
  • Manage staffing levels to meet guest service and financial objectives
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Assist in food presentation and create innovative food displays
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
  • Ensure regular communication through meetings and briefings
  • Recognize and celebrate team member contributions
  • Solicit team member feedback and address concerns
  • Introduce new culinary products and services
  • Ensure fair administration of disciplinary procedures
  • Participate in corrective action plans to enhance quality
  • Identify opportunities to optimize performance and drive change
  • Communicate department impact on financial goals
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts and submit accounting
  • Respond to guest comments and challenges
  • Foster internal and external relationships
  • Recruit, train and manage culinary team
  • Provide coaching and mentorship
