Job Requirements
- Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English
- Must adhere to and ensure all health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen
- Ability to safely and effectively utilize kitchen equipment and utensils
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance upholding company standards
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding in carrying out instructions
- Ability to comply in standardized situations with little variation
- Availability to work flexible days and shifts including holidays
- Ability to work without constant supervision
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years experience in a similar role
- Excellent customer service skills
- Food Handler's Certificate within 30 days of hire
- ServSafe certification within 30 days if not already certified
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
Job Duties
- Supervise kitchen and oversee food preparation and presentation in the absence of the Head Chef
- Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients
- Ensure first in, first out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
- Keep cooking stations stocked before and during prime operation hours
- Hire and train new kitchen employees to standards
- Manage food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizing waste
- Work with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability and training
- Verify food storage units meet standards and are well managed
