Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related field
  • OR two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
  • Two years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related field
  • Ability to work full time
  • Management experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Willingness to engage directly in kitchen operations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with food and beverage policies and standards
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate with kitchen personnel
  • Assist Executive Chef with kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Prepare and cook food items including special functions
  • Develop new culinary ideas and create decorative food displays
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff
  • Lead shifts by preparing food and executing specifications
  • Utilize leadership skills to encourage and influence team members
  • Build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team
  • Serve as a role model for appropriate behaviors
  • Maintain employee productivity and set clear expectations
  • Foster collaborative relationships within the team
  • Administer property policies fairly and consistently
  • Communicate performance expectations and recognize successes
  • Provide customer-focused service and manage daily operations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback and handle complaints
  • Achieve performance and budget goals
