Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for most of an 8 plus hour period
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a hot, noisy, fast-paced environment

  • Must have the ability to take charge, initiate actions, and solve problems

  • Must be service oriented and caring in interactions with staff and guests

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years professional cooking experience
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with California employment laws especially wage and hour
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Leadership skills for maintaining team success
  • Good understanding of food safety procedures
  • Ability to perform costing analysis and price menu additions
  • Problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred background in upscale Mexican cuisine
  • Experienced in menu development

Job Duties

  • Supervise forum cooks and stewards
  • Oversee evening kitchen operations of forum
  • Communicate and teach food and beverage standards
  • Assist in menu development for restaurant and in-room dining
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, organization, and safety
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inspection of food supplies
  • Create and maintain weekly labor schedules
  • Monitor food portion sizes, presentation, and quality control
  • Coordinate with executive chef and food and beverage director
  • Support other food and beverage venues as needed
