Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and continuously perform essential functions
  • Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect emergency signs
  • Speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Ability to work required shifts including nights, early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts
  • Three years of experience as a Lead cook or Jr. Sous Chef
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government-required licenses, certificates or permits
  • Experienced in training subordinates in fine food preparation and knowledgeable in menu structure
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to taste foods to ensure correct preparation
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work required shifts including nights, breakfasts, evenings, and weekends

Job Duties

  • Observe workers engaged in preparing, portioning, and garnishing foods to ensure methods and portion sizes are as prescribed
  • Implement and maintain all standards set forth by Management and establish training for personnel according to standard operating procedures
  • Ensure safe and consistent food production aligned with daily guest needs and company expectations
  • Maintain highest health, sanitation, and safety standards in food handling and cleanliness
  • Check quality, quantity, presentation, and correct temperature of each dish leaving the kitchen
  • Manage creativity, quality, cleanliness, and food safety for all food outlets, buffets, action stations, and food displays
  • Organize an efficient flow of production and provide on-the-job training to line staff for effective performance
