Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or related food service role
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capable of performing kitchen-related physical tasks such as reaching, leaning, stooping, and kneeling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Comfortable following guidelines and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Experience in supervising kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage inventory and control food costs
  • Proficiency in menu planning and recipe adherence
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Experience with scheduling and payroll
  • Previous experience in hotel or banquet food service is a plus

Job Duties

  • Supervise activities of assigned staff, communicate goals, and assign/schedule work
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures
  • Oversee methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation
  • Control food usage to minimize waste
  • Inspect cleanliness of line floor and kitchen stations
  • Maintain proper storage procedures and comply with state sanitation and health regulations
  • Ensure proper staffing for each meal period
  • Support senior leadership by assuming key management responsibilities
  • Ensure completion of all opening and closing procedures by BOH employees
  • Review menus and inventory, purchase food and supplies as needed
  • Assist in determining minimum and maximum stock levels
  • Assist in cooking and food preparation
  • Understand policies, standards, and training programs
  • Ensure correct receipt, count, and condition of products
  • Responsible for end-of-month inventory
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through coordination with other departments
  • Report to work punctually and assist in emergencies
  • Lead and coach team towards guest service and employee satisfaction
  • Oversee quality control of recipes and adherence
  • Prepare daily work assignments and delegate to staff
  • Assist in scheduling and payroll monitoring
  • Assist in other tasks as requested by management
