Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in culinary or food and beverage field
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
  • 2 years experience in culinary or food and beverage field
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations and staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation laws
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Availability for full-time work
  • Able to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Effective problem-solving abilities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Estimates daily production needs and communicates production to kitchen personnel
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepares and cooks foods, including for special guests or functions
  • Develops and creates new culinary applications and artistic contributions
  • Assists in food presentation and creates decorative food displays
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Ensures compliance with food handling, sanitation, and legal standards
  • Performs duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary
  • Recognizes superior quality in products, presentation, and flavor
  • Operates kitchen equipment and reports malfunctions
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and food preparation workers
  • Leads shifts by preparing food items and executing specification requests
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence team
  • Encourages trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Serves as a role model and maintains productivity levels
  • Ensures employees understand expectations and policies
  • Communicates performance expectations clearly
