Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in kitchen leadership in high volume environment
  • Culinary school graduation or related training preferred
  • Knowledge of Health Department and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Strong decision-making and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet budgetary goals including labor and food costs
  • Experience in staff training and development
  • Collaborative and professional communication skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Fluent literacy in English including business math
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Serve Safe food handler's certificate
  • Ability to travel and commute as needed
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Oversee all kitchen production areas and coordinate multiple shifts
  • Manage kitchen staff, delegate tasks, set deadlines, and maintain accountability
  • Teach and uphold City Winery's philosophy, culture, and commitment to quality food and service
  • Monitor production procedures to ensure quality, consistency, productivity, and professionalism
  • Supervise standard operating procedures including recipes, purchasing, and inventory
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Train kitchen staff on food storage, preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Establish kitchen goals and resolve problems across kitchen operations
  • Develop production methodologies to enhance efficiency and consistency
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Report to work punctually and in proper uniform
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions
  • Collaborate with internal divisions to support company goals
  • Plan and execute culinary aspects of specialty events
  • Complete managerial projects and tasks as assigned by leadership
  • Ensure food quality, portion control, and consistency meet company standards
  • Develop standard recipes to minimize costs and enhance food presentation
  • Oversee food handling and adherence to health regulations
  • Foster positive workplace culture and morale
  • Participate in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating kitchen employees
  • Recommend disciplinary actions in partnership with HR
  • Train staff in safe operation of kitchen equipment
  • Manage food, labor costs, and payroll within budget
  • Approve production and staff scheduling
  • Maintain administrative duties including paperwork and scheduling logs
  • Supervise kitchen supervisors' understanding of costs and expenses
  • Conduct routine staff meetings during shifts
  • Support culinary elements of corporate and sponsored events
  • Operate kitchen aligned with financial and operational goals
