Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years progressive hotel food and beverage experience or culinary degree with two or more years experience
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for eight-plus hours per shift
  • Ability to frequently twist, bend, stoop, reach, stand and walk
  • Strong communication skills including talking, hearing and seeing
  • Customer-centric attitude with a friendly and fun approach
  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and safety standards
  • Compliance with municipal and state hygiene and safety laws

Job Qualifications

  • Three or more years progressive hotel food and beverage experience or culinary degree with two or more years progressive experience
  • Experienced in high volume catering and fine dining
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills supporting growth and development
  • Knowledge of current culinary trends and commitment to ongoing culinary development
  • Creativity and strong service skills
  • Ability to energize a diverse team of culinary professionals
  • Computer literate

Job Duties

  • Direct and supervise efficient operation of food production areas
  • Assist Executive Chef in food preparation based on standardized recipes
  • Maintain highest standards for appealing and appetizing food
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation and safety in kitchen and storage areas
  • Minimize waste and optimize cost/production ratio
  • Expedite peak meal periods with hands-on approach
  • Monitor food outlets, buffets and stations for quality and food safety
  • Schedule and train cooks with proper uniforms
  • Assist Outlet-Restaurant and Banquet Manager with daily and weekly duties
  • Coordinate food and beverage services for conventions and group activities
  • Work with Food and Beverage Department to improve practices and services
  • Manage departmental objectives and goals
  • Operate within monthly food cost budget and control waste
  • Oversee menu creation for staff restaurant
  • Promote teamwork in kitchen and collaborate with other departments
  • Participate in media and community events to promote hotel
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Respond to food-related feedback and generate reports
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in working order
  • Participate in departmental and hotel meetings and support hotel committees
