Job Requirements
- Education or certification in culinary arts or equivalent
- Three to five years of commercial cooking experience
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work weekends and day or night shifts
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Proficiency in computer applications for inventory and documentation management
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or Apprenticeship or Certification from culinary school
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
- Ability to understand and apply concepts of financial controls such as food cost management, stock control, and waste minimization
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Service orientation
- Leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
Job Duties
- Executes and supervises food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, cooking of food items
- Assumes responsibilities of Executive Chef when not available including vacation, off-days, menu presentations
- Supervise, coordinate and control kitchen helpers in food storage
- Conducts, coordinates and supervises inventories
- Monitors material consumption and orders required food and equipment daily
- Participates in food product and menu development
- Maintains and monitors hygiene, health and safety standards according to HACCP
- Conducts quality control checks and quality checks of goods received
- Monitors compliance with recipe specifications
- Ensure area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
- Guide, motivate and develop subordinate employees within Human Resources Policy
- Implement and control cost budget in area of responsibility
- Participate in company initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing
