Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to withstand warm to hot environments while using ovens, stoves or fryers
  • Commitment to mentoring and leading culinary team with respect and professionalism
  • Willingness to collaborate with multiple hotel departments
  • Flexible with responsibilities to support hotel operations

Job Qualifications

  • Three or more years progressive culinary experience preferably in multi-service hotel or restaurant
  • Passion for culinary arts with experience in a wide range of cuisines
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills adaptable to all employee levels
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and verbal communication
  • Ability to calculate basic math to meet menu ingredient requirements and perform inventory
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high volume environments

Job Duties

  • Uphold and role model the company’s principles of People, Place, and Character while encouraging your direct reports to embody values driving collaboration, intuitive service, and translocal hospitality
  • Be a key partner with the Executive Chef, Culinary leaders and F+B management team demonstrating a united commitment to the best possible guest experience
  • Collaborate with and coach your team to uphold food integrity, guest experience, cleanliness, and maintenance of culinary spaces
  • Deliver guest’s expectation for an amazing culinary experience balancing flavor, temperature, texture, satisfaction, and menu flow
  • Understand operational metrics and connect them with observations
  • Coach and mentor team members on skill development, technique, and menu execution fostering continuous growth
  • Facilitate open communication lines within the department including daily line ups and meetings to address priorities and voice concerns
  • Participate actively in recruitment, training, scheduling, supervising, and motivating culinary associates nurturing ideas and future talent
  • Monitor conditions of physical facilities and equipment, collaborating with appropriate departments for improvements
  • Maintain communication with Executive Chef and F+B Management team to align priorities and support operations
