Job Requirements

  • associates degree in culinary arts or equivalent
  • minimum 7 years cooking experience
  • minimum 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • knowledge of FDA, USDA, HACCP regulations
  • ability to lift over 25 pounds
  • availability for rotating schedule over 55 hours per week
  • ability to work in fast paced environment
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to lead and manage a team
  • completion of company required training
  • compliance with company policies
  • ability to travel up to 25 percent
  • physical ability to stand, bend and move during 10+ hour shifts

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree in culinary arts or culinary arts certification preferred
  • minimum 1-3 years experience as chef or sous chef required
  • minimum 7 years experience as cook required
  • previous supervisory experience in high volume food production or catering preferred
  • in-flight catering or high-volume food service experience preferred
  • ability to cook meals according to detailed specifications
  • ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to train others
  • excellent time management skills
  • strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • innovative with ability to improve operations
  • experience with menu design a plus
  • basic computer skills
  • servsafe certified preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • bilingual in Spanish a plus

Job Duties

  • assist in designing and preparing meals for airline customers
  • provide culinary expertise and leadership
  • promote quality food services and ensure food safety and sanitation
  • drive food production effort with assistance of food supervisors
  • ensure food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • supervise department for quality and quantity
  • ensure items produced and dated according to specification and coding system
  • keep account of attendance and assign employees to specified sections
  • order raw material from storeroom and produce extra meals as needed
  • prepare daily production sheet and assign tasks
  • train and monitor employees on procedures
  • ensure safety and cleanliness
  • manage daily production of kitchens for quality and consistency
  • ensure compliance with wage and hour policy
  • coach, counsel and prepare corrective actions for employees
  • review payroll and job titles
  • ensure company required training is completed
