Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum three years of sous chef or comparable experience in full service and high volume restaurant
  • Serv Safe certification
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • proficiency with back office accounting and POS systems
  • ability to work nights, weekends, and 12+ hour shifts
  • ability to manage and motivate a team of up to 75 people
  • knowledge of HACCP and food safety protocols
  • ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to maintain a professional appearance
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • capable of working independently and in a team

Job Qualifications

  • Three years sous chef or comparable experience in a full service and high volume restaurant
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • experience with back office and POS systems such as Restaurant 365, Hot Schedules, Micros
  • advanced organizational skills
  • bilingual is a plus
  • culinary arts degree (associates, bachelors, certificates) is a plus
  • Serv Safe Certified
  • strong knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Duties

  • Coordinate, lead, and direct line cooks, prep cooks, and utility team members
  • train and validate new cooks and provide ongoing coaching to existing cooks
  • partner with executive chef, GM, and FOH managers on training and educating team members
  • ensure 100% recipe adherence by all team members
  • hold team accountability to policies and procedures set forth by American Social
  • implement and uphold safety and sanitation standards and overall kitchen organization
  • lead the implementation and compliance of HACCP plans
  • maintain clear communication with the executive chef, GM, and corporate chef
  • assist executive chef in managing food cost to goal
  • manage controllable costs to goal
  • assist with culinary side of back office accounting and scheduling systems
  • perform accurate inventories and communicate food cost issues
  • conduct line and quality checks to ensure food quality and equipment functionality
  • enforce proper image and appearance guidelines including hygiene
