Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Experience in banquet or catering operations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective team player with leadership abilities

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Ability to train and develop staff
  • Understanding of food presentation and quality standards

Job Duties

  • Order and requisition banquet products in a timely manner and appropriate quantities
  • Coordinate, plan and supervise production and presentation of food for banquet events
  • Manage daily banquet culinary operations including meal preparation, food quality supervision, safety and sanitation compliance, team productivity, policy implementation, cost control and profitability
  • Analyze banquet event orders to plan and coordinate food and beverage for client functions
  • Perform daily walk-through inventory to determine production and prioritize product use
  • Assign production duties to staff
  • Conduct line checks for dinner service to ensure quality
  • Meet daily with line cooks to coordinate production standards
  • Properly use, handle, clean, breakdown and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
  • Coordinate proper food storage per operating procedures
  • Direct employees in proper service techniques
  • Assist with expediting dinner service
  • Perform end-of-night walk-through
  • Document and review kitchen management log books daily
  • Control cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen employees
  • Manage and oversee all stations and walk-ins in restaurant
  • Practice, train, monitor and maintain sanitation standards including health guidelines
