Job Requirements

  • must be able to stand for 8+ hours
  • must be able to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs
  • must be able to work efficiently in hot, noisy, and fast-paced environment
  • must be familiar with California employment laws, especially wage and hour laws
  • must be service oriented and able to maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of 10 years professional cooking experience
  • minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • experience in upscale Mexican cuisine preferred
  • previous menu development experience preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • bilingual in English and Spanish
  • basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • strong leadership and team management abilities
  • thorough understanding of food safety procedures
  • proficiency in costing analysis and pricing
  • proven problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments

Job Duties

  • supervise and prioritize numerous kitchen activities
  • teach and enforce all food and beverage standards
  • develop menus collaboratively with executive team
  • maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen
  • order, receive, and inspect food supplies
  • prepare and manage weekly staff schedules
  • ensure food presentation meets high standards
  • maintain prompt and excellent food service during meal periods
  • manage food and labor costs effectively
