Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary training a plus
  • 2+ years of cooking or food preparation experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen
  • strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • food handlers card
  • excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • ability to act as a working lead and coordinate kitchen workflow without formal supervisory duties

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and plate meals to the highest standard
  • provide daily direction, informal coaching, and quality checks to keep the kitchen running smoothly
  • assist with menu creation, plan daily specials, and bring fresh ideas for themed events and special occasions
  • help with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • ensure food handling, health, and sanitation standards are always met
  • step in wherever needed to keep service on track and residents happy
