Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a sous chef or similar role
  • culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • effective communication skills
  • reliable transportation and valid driver’s license if travel within metropolitan area is required
  • unexpired AZ Food Manager Certification
  • regular attendance
  • ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience of 3 to 5 years as a sous chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume kitchen
  • culinary degree or equivalent certification from an accredited institution preferred
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff
  • strong communication skills
  • flexibility and adaptability
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to use point of sale system
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ability to use employee self-service and supervisor role on human resources/payroll database
  • unexpired AZ Food Manager Certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage daily kitchen operations
  • supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff
  • plan and organize kitchen workflow
  • ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  • oversee preparation and cooking of dishes
  • ensure proper storage and handling of food and ingredients
  • monitor food production and presentation
  • manage banquet and event food preparation and delivery
  • collaborate with front-of-house staff
  • address customer concerns
  • manage kitchen personnel
  • provide training and development opportunities
  • conduct performance reviews
  • maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients
  • order food and supplies
  • perform inventory checks and manage stock rotation
  • collaborate with Executive Chef on menu development
  • ensure dishes adhere to quality standards
  • evaluate and innovate recipes
  • monitor food costs and budget constraints
  • participate in inventory and meetings
  • perform other duties as assigned
