Job Duties

  • Supervise activities of assigned staff, communicate goals, and assign/schedule work
  • communicate and enforce policies and procedures
  • oversee methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation
  • control food usage to minimize waste
  • inspect cleanliness of the line floor and all kitchen stations
  • maintain and abide by proper storage procedures and health regulations
  • ensure the department and stations are properly staffed for each meal period
  • support senior leadership by developing and assuming management responsibilities
  • ensure completion of opening and closing procedures by BOH employees
  • review menus, inventory, and purchase food and supplies as needed
  • assist in determining minimum and maximum stocks of all food and equipment
  • assist in cooking and food preparation
  • understand and enforce policies, procedures, and training programs
  • ensure correct receipt of all products and deliveries
  • responsible for end of month inventory
  • promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other departments
  • report to work punctually and assist in emergencies
  • lead and coach team towards exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction
  • oversee quality control and adherence to recipes
  • prepare daily work assignments and delegate tasks
  • assist in scheduling and payroll monitoring
  • assist with other tasks as requested by management
