Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Must be able to pass background checks and provide references

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar culinary leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Capable of handling high-pressure situations and problem-solving
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Train and inspire the kitchen team to excel in all culinary tasks, from presentation to technique
  • Lead and manage kitchen operations including scheduling and performance evaluations
  • Maintain open lines of communication between management and kitchen staff
  • Address and resolve kitchen issues promptly to ensure efficient operation
  • Maintain high food quality standards and ensure seamless service
  • Support the kitchen's success by setting goals that improve performance and profitability
  • Step up to lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Keep kitchen records up to date and ensure timely submission of payroll
