Job Requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Valid Food Handlers Certificate
- Minimum 5 years supervisory kitchen experience
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage kitchen operations and food cost control
- Willingness to train and support junior colleagues
- Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to safety standards
- Understanding of FIFO food rotation principles
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory kitchen experience in a similar sized property
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- High level of responsibility and reliability
- Ability to make informed decisions in the best interests of the hotel and departments
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to build relationships and work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous
- Experience as a kitchen supervisor is essential
- Ability to adapt under pressure to the needs of colleagues and guests
Job Duties
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
- Be able to consistently produce products that are of the highest quality
- Oversee Daily Production Sheets and review Event Orders on a daily basis for assigned outlet
- Actively participate in training culinary skills to junior colleagues
- Develop and adhere to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and quality standards
- Promote teamwork between kitchen team and other hotel departments
- Ensure minimal overproduction and food waste, proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food to reduce costs
- Assist in preparation and service of all food items for à la carte and buffet menus
- Share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
- Maintain proper rotation of product in chillers using FIFO rules
- Ensure accurate and timely storeroom requisitions
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Have full knowledge of all banquet menu items
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
- Ensure employees work effectively and efficiently, improving morale and employee relations
- Perform other duties as assigned by Kitchen Managers
