Job Requirements

  • Commercial kitchen experience of eight or more years
  • Cooking experience in fine dining for three or more years
  • Knowledge of kitchen areas including prep, pantry, pastries, breads
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record
  • Physical ability to stand long periods and lift 30-40 lbs
  • Capacity for repetitive motion and multitasking
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Eight or more years of commercial kitchen experience
  • Three or more years cooking in fine dining or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of prep, pantry, contemporary cooking methods, pastries and breads
  • Preferred CA Food Manager Certification
  • Knowledge of food and wine pairing preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration
  • Ability to speak and describe cuisine to groups
  • Valid CA Driver's License with clean record
  • Ability to drive between winery locations

Job Duties

  • Help oversee culinary staff daily agenda and schedule
  • Participate in daily and weekly food production
  • Motivate kitchen team on tasks
  • Oversee cooking techniques, skills, knife cuts, and seasoning
  • Maintain team efficiency and quality
  • Write performance reviews and coach staff
  • Lead planning and execution of multi-course meals and events
  • Present and speak to guests during dining experiences
  • Manage food, labor and operating budgets
  • Order kitchen products and inspect deliveries
  • Maintain tight food inventory pars
  • Oversee variable hour staff scheduling
  • Collaborate with landscaping team on culinary garden plan
  • Participate in team meetings and events
  • Welcome guests into kitchen
  • Assist with menu development and staff hiring
  • Provide staff training and scheduling
  • Coordinate with food vendors
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and health safety compliance
  • Monitor staff sanitation habits
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen chemicals and supplies
  • Keep hand sinks stocked
  • Maintain sanitizer buckets and clean floors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
