Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of related experience
- Ability to manage kitchen staff effectively
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Good mobility and ability to move frequently within the kitchen
- Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate clearly
- Literacy and comprehension skills for reading records and special requests
- Capability to read, write and analyze data for budget compliance
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of related experience in a similar position
- Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
- Experience in managing kitchen staff and complex food and beverage operations
- Ability to develop and motivate employees
- Strong comprehension and literacy skills for reading, writing, and budget analysis
- Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Manage the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel restaurant(s) and room service to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage human resources in production and preparation areas to attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring a safe work environment
- Interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel staff
- Recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews
- Schedule and oversee maintenance and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and related areas to meet health and safety regulations
- Monitor, analyze and control all labor and food costs
- Prepare reports, charts and schedules to meet budget goals
- Promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and expenses
- Assist Executive Chef in creating and implementing menu and production changes
