Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of related experience
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Good mobility and ability to move frequently within the kitchen
  • Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate clearly
  • Literacy and comprehension skills for reading records and special requests
  • Capability to read, write and analyze data for budget compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of related experience in a similar position
  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • Experience in managing kitchen staff and complex food and beverage operations
  • Ability to develop and motivate employees
  • Strong comprehension and literacy skills for reading, writing, and budget analysis
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel restaurant(s) and room service to ensure quality and consistency
  • Manage human resources in production and preparation areas to attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring a safe work environment
  • Interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel staff
  • Recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and related areas to meet health and safety regulations
  • Monitor, analyze and control all labor and food costs
  • Prepare reports, charts and schedules to meet budget goals
  • Promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and expenses
  • Assist Executive Chef in creating and implementing menu and production changes
