Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory kitchen role
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
- strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- excellent interpersonal skills
- knowledge of sustainability practices in food preparation preferred
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a luxury hotel or resort
- strong leadership and team management skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- excellent culinary skills with the ability to prepare and execute high-quality menu items
- ability to manage budgets and control food and labor costs
- effective communication and organizational skills
- culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items in accordance with hotel recipes and standards
- train, supervise, evaluate and schedule all kitchen staff
- fulfill management duties of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in their absence
- take necessary steps to maintain proper food and labor cost control
- review, plan and develop menus for banquet functions as well as restaurants
- ensure the operational safety and cleanliness of all kitchen working areas and equipment
- assist with administrative duties such as food ordering, payroll and receiving
- perform a variety of duties as assigned
