Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of relevant culinary or hospitality experience
  • Must be able to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to comply with Health Department regulations
  • Physical ability to lift or move heavy items up to 200 lbs
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Ability to maintain punctual attendance
  • Willingness to comply with all hotel policies and grooming standards

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Two years experience required
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a must
  • Ability to operate food machinery with finger and hand dexterity
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or move goods weighing up to 200 lbs
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance

Job Duties

  • Assign duties to kitchen staff in detail regarding efficient kitchen operation
  • Select, train and supervise kitchen staff in proper menu item preparation
  • Schedule culinary staff to maintain proper coverage while keeping payroll costs in line
  • Ensure proper receipt, storage including temperature-setting and rotation of food products in compliance with Health Department regulations
  • Adhere to control procedures for cost and quality
  • Supervise daily cleaning of walk-in and reach-in boxes for safety reasons
  • Maintain vacation schedule for proper staffing
  • Report any equipment in need of repair to Chef or Engineering for service
  • Perform other duties as requested such as VIP parties and staff meetings
