Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit continuously for eight or more hours
- frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and walking
- good communication skills including talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
- flexibility in scheduling including varied shift days and hours
- commitment to maintaining high culinary and safety standards
- physical stamina for long shifts
Job Qualifications
- Three or more years of progressive experience in hotel food and beverage or culinary industry
- or culinary degree with two or more years of relevant experience
- leadership and managerial skills
- knowledge of current culinary trends
- strong service skills
- ability to energize and lead a diverse culinary team
- computer literacy
- experience in high volume catering with hotel brands and fine dining
- creativity in menu and meal planning
Job Duties
- Oversee and direct the efficient operation of all food production areas
- supervise and support preparation of all menu items in accordance with standardized recipes
- maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment
- monitor cleanliness across workstations and storage areas
- enforce food safety protocols
- minimize waste and optimize resource utilization
- schedule and train kitchen staff
- assist food and beverage services for conventions and group activities
- collaborate with other hotel departments to facilitate services
- respond to food-related feedback and ensure proper reporting
- maintain kitchen equipment in good working order
- participate in departmental and hotel meetings
- promote teamwork and maintain strong working relationships with supporting departments
