- Food service or cooking experience required
- ability to work full-time schedule including weekends
- must be able to perform essential functions of the position
- able to comply with food safety regulations
- good physical stamina to stand for long periods
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to accept layoff periods during academic breaks if necessary
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in food service or cooking
- supervisory experience preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to lead and manage a team
- strong communication and customer service skills
- understanding of menu items and food preparation techniques
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
- ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
- supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews
- stores food in designated areas following food safety and sanitation procedures
- ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures
- maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
- cleans workstation thoroughly
- keeps display equipment clean during meal service
- interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items
- keeps up with peak production and service hours
- monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
- tracks product production, consumption, and waste
- informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
- performs other duties as assigned
