Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Ability to work full-time in a fast-paced kitchen setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish
  • Physical stamina to stand and move for long periods during shifts

Job Duties

  • Lead the line and own service execution across all stations
  • Work the line at a high level during peak periods
  • Step into any station immediately and effectively
  • Prevent tickets from stalling through anticipation and communication
  • Maintain calm, control, and clarity under pressure
  • Drive daily kitchen organization by ensuring all stations are fully set before service
  • Maintain clean, tight, and efficient workspaces
  • Enforce proper storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO)
  • Execute and oversee all receiving protocols
  • Check in orders for quality, accuracy, and proper storage
  • Organize walk-ins, dry storage, and prep areas daily
  • Train and guide line cooks with clarity and respect
  • Set expectations and correct behavior in the moment
  • Maintain a professional, inclusive, and focused kitchen culture
  • Act as the Chef's proxy when they are not present
  • Execute prep plans, pars, and production schedules
  • Assist with ordering, scheduling inputs, and basic admin
  • Build and maintain prep lists that reflect actual service needs
  • Ensure prep is completed accurately and on time
  • Eliminate last-minute scrambling through proper planning
