Job Duties

  • responsible for departmental logistics efficiency, assist in and conduct wine training of new hired and existing staff and materials generation, monitor and spot check wine deliveries and bin number assignment, proper storage and organization of the wine cellar, offer wine expertise and guide guests about wine overseeing service in the restaurant by being present on the floor, present and offer wine suggestions to all guests, execute wine service step by step, support dining room staff with wine related and service related issues, personalize service by leading by example and building relationships with guests, build guest loyalty by creating and maintaining guest preference notes related to wine consumption, monitor and ensure quality of wine and wine glassware, train staff on proper bottle presentation, decanting and pouring, communicate wine lows and changes to staff, maintain an inventory system for beverage management, conduct full liquor and wine inventory monthly, update wine inventory sheets after weekly counts, ensure accuracy of wines on menus and POS postings, communicate wine changes and pricing updates to corporate teams, handle wine deliveries and invoices in absence of receiver, maximize financial performance and profit through promotions and upselling, enforce federal, state and local laws regarding alcohol consumption, maintain safety and security of employees and guests, continuously develop knowledge of wines and industry trends
