Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or certificate
  • continuing wine education
  • food handler certification
  • RBS certification
  • sexual harassment training compliance
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • standing and walking 100 percent of the time
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • no personal phone use while on the clock

Job Qualifications

  • must be over 21 years
  • minimum 2 years wine service experience in upscale or luxury dining
  • possess extensive wine knowledge
  • effective communication and written skills
  • mature judgment and professionalism

Job Duties

  • work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • promote harmonious and profitable working relationships
  • attend and participate in department meetings
  • incorporate all systems and routines into daily operations
  • adhere to company policies and best practices
  • exercise good judgment and report issues to Wine Director and management
  • partner with FOH and BOH for customer satisfaction
  • maintain food handler and RBS certification
  • stay current with wine list and education
  • perform daily stocking and inventory assessments
  • assist in monthly wine inventory
  • communicate daily wine notes and discrepancies to staff
  • provide knowledgeable wine service
  • assist service staff with food and beverage service
  • ensure guest satisfaction
  • pursue thorough knowledge of food, cocktail and drink lists
  • coordinate with kitchen and service staff
  • communicate wine and glassware needs to Wine Director
  • support Wine Director in coaching staff
  • perform all service procedures exemplarily
  • assist in greeting guests warmly
  • respond promptly to guest concerns
  • assist with running food and bussing
  • run end of day reports and closing procedures
