Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or certificate
  • Continuing wine education
  • Must be over 21 years
  • Minimum 2 years experience in wine service in upscale or luxury dining
  • Extensive wine knowledge
  • Effective communication and written skills
  • Mature judgment and professionalism
  • Food handler certification compliant
  • RBS compliant
  • Sexual harassment training compliant
  • Ability to stand and walk 100 percent of the time within the restaurant
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • No personal phone use during working hours

Job Qualifications

  • Must be over 21 years old
  • Minimum of 2 years prior wine service experience in upscale or luxury dining facilities
  • Possess extensive wine knowledge and continuing wine education
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Mature judgment and professionalism in all service matters
  • Food handler certification
  • Responsible beverage service (RBS) compliance
  • Sexual harassment training compliance

Job Duties

  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Promote a healthy and profitable work relationship within the restaurant
  • Attend and participate in department meetings
  • Ensure daily operations follow company policies and best practices
  • Communicate effectively with the Wine Director and management team
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of wine lists and pairings
  • Perform daily stocking and inventory of the wine room
  • Assist in monthly wine inventories
  • Communicate daily wine notes and discrepancies to staff
  • Provide accurate and knowledgeable wine service to patrons
  • Assist service staff with food and beverage duties
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout service operations
  • Pursue thorough knowledge of food, cocktail, and drink menus
  • Coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff
  • Support the Wine Director in coaching staff on wine pairing and service
  • Greet guests warmly and address concerns promptly
  • Run food, assist with table service and bussing as needed
  • Complete end-of-day closing procedures including cash counting and securing the venue
