Job Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Two years of related work experience
One year of supervisory experience
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Knowledge of responsible alcohol service laws
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Ability to work cooperatively with guests and team members
Willingness to comply with company policies and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Two years of related work experience
One year of supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of wines and wine service
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop vendor relationships
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge of alcohol service laws and safety procedures
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role

Job Duties

Communicate with guests, employees, and departments to ensure teamwork
Answer guest questions regarding origin, vintage, and style of wines
Create, update, and maintain wine lists
Pair and suggest wines to complement menu items
Attend wine tastings and develop vendor relationships
Request new wines and products
Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
Monitor and replenish inventory of wine cellar, equipment, and glassware
Conduct vintage and BIN number checks
Conduct staff wine tastings
Complete opening and closing duties including setup and cleaning
Inspect storage areas for organization, FIFO use, and cleanliness
Complete inventories and requisition supplies
Monitor dining rooms for availability, service, and safety
Complete maintenance work orders
Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles
Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage
Follow laws for responsible alcohol service
Maintain accurate spill sheet
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees
Serve as role model for guarantee of fair treatment
Follow safety and security policies
Report accidents and complete safety training
Ensure professional uniform and appearance
Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets
Welcome and acknowledge guests according to standards
Anticipate and address service needs
Assist individuals with disabilities
Communicate clearly and professionally
Develop positive working relationships
Support team goals
Identify and implement improvements in efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings
Read and verify information
Perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, stooping
