Job Requirements

  • Experience onboard passenger vessels as a sommelier
  • Hold a minimum WSET level 3 or equivalent certificate
  • Valid Basic STCW certificates, as required for the position
  • Competency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Good product and beverage knowledge
  • Must have very good organisational skills and show attention to detail
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure
  • Must be service-minded with an outgoing charming and friendly personality
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinker
  • High level of accuracy whilst being efficient
  • Think laterally and develop new concepts and ideas

Job Duties

  • Provide courteous and efficient wine and bar services to guests and crew
  • Oversee service in lounges and bars and assist servers directly
  • Manage inventory of wines and spirits in assigned areas
  • Train restaurant and bar staff on winemaking techniques, grape backgrounds, characteristics, and history
  • Ensure high standards of wine service and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records of stock and usage
  • Collaborate with management to develop wine programs and new offerings
