Job Requirements

  • must be fluent in English including reading, writing, and communication
  • ability to perform basic business mathematics
  • capable of accurately operating a POS system
  • ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to stand and walk for the entirety of a shift
  • ability to bend, pull, push, use stairs
  • capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • ability to take direction and work within a team
  • maintain professionalism and composure at all times

Job Qualifications

  • minimum two years sommelier experience in a fast-paced restaurant
  • strong knowledge of wine regions both old and new world
  • passion for wine, winemaking, beer, and spirits
  • ability to consistently deliver high-quality guest experiences
  • strong work ethic and team player
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle constructive criticism
  • polished presentation
  • problem-solving aptitude

Job Duties

  • maintain a clean and well-organized wine cellar in accordance with company standards
  • recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests
  • upsell both tableside offerings and retail wine offerings
  • keep staff abreast of beverage changes on the wine list
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • know and defend product brands
  • maintain station cleanliness
