Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a sommelier or wine steward role
- Strong organizational and logistical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Knowledge of food and wine pairing principles
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
- Valid certification in TIPS or equivalent alcohol service training
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Responsible for departmental logistics efficiency and monitoring wine sales and cellar organization
- Assist in and conduct wine training for new and existing staff and generate training materials
- Monitor and spot check wine deliveries and cellar storage
- Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to guests while maintaining proper posture and eye contact
- Work collaboratively with the beverage and service teams
- Offer wine expertise, guide guests on wine choices and oversee service on the restaurant floor
- Personalize guest service by building relationships and maintaining preference notes
- Recommend wine pairings and after-dinner drinks based on food menu knowledge
- Maintain inventory systems and conduct full monthly beverage inventory
- Update wine list and pricing information accurately and communicate changes to relevant departments
- Handle wine deliveries, invoices, and cellar organization in the absence of receivers
- Enforce all alcohol-related laws including age requirements and TIPs training
- Maximize financial performance by suggesting promotions and training staff on up-selling
- Maintain safety and security of employees, guests, and company assets
- Continuously develop personal knowledge of wines and industry trends
- Conduct regular staff education sessions including daily pre-shift trainings and monthly wine classes
- Ensure quality of wine, glassware, and service equipment
