Job Requirements

  • At least two years of sommelier experience in a high volume, fine-dining upscale environment
  • Certification from recognized organizations such as the Court of Master Sommeliers or Wine & Spirit Education Trust is often required or highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Polished appearance and professional demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge of company and department rules, policies and procedures
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to obtain Alcohol Awareness Card, Food Handler Card and Non-Gaming Card

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Polished appearance and professional demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge of company and departmental rules, policies and procedures
  • Sommelier certification or similar professional beverage certification is preferred
  • Knowledge of Chinese cuisine is a plus
  • Previous experience in a large luxury resort setting is preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide expert guidance on wine selections based on guest preferences, menu pairings, and budget
  • Perform tableside wine service including proper decanting, glassware handling, and temperature control
  • Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat business
  • Deliver an upscale, polished service experience by anticipating guest needs
  • Curate and maintain the restaurant's wine list in collaboration with management
  • Manage inventory including wine purchasing, receiving, stocking, and cellar maintenance
  • Conduct staff training on wine knowledge, service techniques, and upselling strategies
  • Collaborate with management and kitchen staff on menu synergy and special events
  • Handle administrative tasks such as invoicing and POS updates
  • Maintain health and safety standards for wine storage and service
  • Ensure compliance with core company values and departmental standards
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing
  • Utilize personal device for job-related operational tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned
