Job Duties
- Deliver, open and serve bottles of wine and champagne
- respond to guest inquiries regarding wine origin, vintage and style
- update and maintain the wine list and MICROS system
- suggest wines that pair best with the menu
- attend wine tastings and build relationships with suppliers
- order new wines and products
- create and update wine lists
- devise and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
- verify and replenish inventory of wine cellar, equipment and glassware
- train and educate waiters and bar staff
- conduct vintage and BIN number checks
- carry out staff wine tastings
- secure liquors, beers, wines, refrigerators, storage cabinets and areas
- comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents or injuries
- complete safety training and certifications
- ensure uniform and grooming meet standards
- maintain confidentiality of company information and protect assets
- support colleagues with dignity and respect
- provide team support to meet common goals
- meet quality assurance expectations
- move, lift, transport, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- stand, sit or walk for extended periods
- read and visually verify information in various formats
- grasp, turn and handle objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
- reach above head and below knees, including bending, twisting, dragging and stooping
- navigate narrow, confined or elevated spaces
- traverse inclined, uneven or slippery surfaces and stairways
- ascend and descend service stairways and ramps
- welcome and acknowledge guests per company standards
- communicate clearly and professionally
- answer phone calls using appropriate etiquette
- perform other reasonable work tasks as assigned by supervisors
