Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Communicate with guests, employees, and departments to ensure teamwork and guest satisfaction
  • answer guest questions about wine origin, harvest, and styles
  • create, update, and maintain wine lists
  • pair and suggest wines that complement menu items
  • attend wine tastings and develop supplier relationships
  • request new wines and products
  • design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
  • monitor and replenish inventory of cellar, equipment, and glassware
  • conduct vintage and BIN number verification
  • perform wine tastings with staff
  • complete opening and closing tasks including organizing supplies and cleaning
  • inspect storage areas for organization, FIFO system use, and cleanliness
  • complete scheduled inventories and order supplies
  • oversee dining room availability, service quality, guest safety, and well-being
  • complete maintenance work orders
  • provide, open, and serve wine or champagne
  • secure liquors, beers, wines, refrigerators, cabinets, and storage areas
  • comply with all state and local alcohol service laws
  • maintain an accurate spill log
  • collaborate with management on hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching staff
  • serve as a role model and first point of contact for fair treatment policy and open door process
  • adhere to company safety policies and report maintenance, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • ensure uniforms and personal appearance are neat and professional
  • maintain company information confidentiality and asset protection
  • support and treat coworkers with dignity and respect
  • assist team to reach common goals
  • meet quality assurance expectations and standards
  • move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects under 50 pounds unassisted
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • read and verify information in various formats
