Job Requirements

  • must have minimum 2 years of sommelier experience
  • strong fundamental knowledge of wine regions globally
  • genuine passion for wine and winemaking
  • ability to recommend and upsell wine and beverage pairings
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • fluency in English
  • ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • ability to perform physical tasks required by the role
  • must be a team player with strong organizational skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • maintain a clean, well-organized wine cellar in accordance with company standards
  • recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests
  • upsell tableside offerings and retail wine for take home
  • keep staff informed of beverage changes on the wine list
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • defend product brands knowledgeably
  • identify table and seat numbers
  • maintain station cleanliness
  • know cocktail list and its flavor profiles
  • be familiar with producer, variety, region, vintage, and flavor profiles of wines
  • perform proper wine opening and tableside service
  • provide warm and knowledgeable guest service
  • accommodate guests and make them feel welcomed
  • act professionally and maintain composure
  • identify and report problems to management
  • be aware of service flow and dining timing
  • implement and follow steps of service
  • respond to guest needs including taking orders, running food, and bussing tables
  • oversee activities of team in station
