Job Requirements
- minimum of 3 years experience in a sommelier or wine management role
- certification from a recognized sommelier or wine education program preferred
- strong knowledge of wine production and service standards
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
- physically able to handle wine inventory and stand for extended periods
- willing to uphold the resort’s high standards of service and presentation
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as a sommelier or in a similar wine-focused role
- deep knowledge of wine regions varietals vintages and pairing principles
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to conduct engaging wine tastings and staff training
- experience working in fine dining or luxury hospitality environments
- creativity in developing wine programs and pairings
- passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
Job Duties
- curate and manage the restaurant’s wine list ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection
- share wine expertise with guests and service staff to enhance the dining experience
- collaborate with the Executive Chef on daily menu changes and wine pairings
- conduct wine tastings and training sessions for staff to improve wine knowledge and service standards
- stay updated on wine trends regions and vintages to maintain a current and competitive wine program
- innovate strategies to increase wine knowledge and sales in The Dining Room
- provide a professional welcoming personality that embodies exceptional service
