Job Requirements

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities to achieve overall success of the operation
  • Represent the company professionally and promote the restaurant's success to guests and staff
  • Lead wine floor service and ensure staff engagement aligns with brand standards
  • Assist with training employees on wine and sake knowledge and lead educational programs
  • Assist with beverage list maintenance and accuracy
  • Manage wine inventory, keeping wine par levels and updating beverage menus
  • Ensure wine inventory accuracy and maintenance for private events
  • Assist with deliveries, restocking, and updating inventory
  • Maintain wine storage cleanliness and repair
  • Work to minimize costs, maximize guest satisfaction, and maximize profitability
  • Possess advanced knowledge of food and beverage offerings including ingredients, allergens, and daily specials

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of wines and sake
  • Experience leading a wine program in a luxury dining environment
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff
  • Strong organizational skills for inventory management
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Knowledge of food and beverage pairings and allergens
  • Previous experience in a sommelier or lead sommelier role

Job Duties

  • Lead wine floor service and ensure junior sommeliers and service team are engaging guests in accordance with brand standards
  • Assist with training employees on wine and sake knowledge and lead ongoing staff education programs
  • Maintain accuracy of beverage lists and assist with updates
  • Manage wine inventory, keep wine par levels, and update beverage menus
  • Oversee wine inventory for private events and maintain private dining wine pars
  • Assist with receiving and restocking deliveries, ensuring delivery accuracy and updating out-of-stock items
  • Maintain wine storage accuracy, cleanliness, and ensure excellent repair of wine storage areas
