Job Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
- must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- legible handwriting
- availability to work weekends, nights, and holidays
- ability to work independently without constant supervision
- must be able to stand for extended periods
- tolerance for secondary smoke and high noise levels
- demonstrated ability to maintain high quality guest service under stress
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- extensive knowledge about wine and food pairings
- successful completion of an accredited Sommelier program
- strong communication skills
- ability to work independently
- professional appearance
- experience in hospitality or related field preferred
Job Duties
- Orders and maintains wine inventory in accordance with company objectives
- assists guests with wine selections during dining to ensure a superior guest service experience
- interfaces with wineries and wine distributors
- attends wine tastings and similar functions to enhance knowledge of the existing market
- maintains a professional appearance and a positive company image
- works calmly and under stress during high volume business periods
- maintains consistent, high quality guest service levels
