Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant certification in wine studies (e.g. WSET, CMS) preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a sommelier or in wine service
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to beverage service
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand standards
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sommelier or in a similar wine management role
- Strong knowledge of Italian and international wines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train and lead staff effectively
- Familiarity with beverage cost control and inventory management
- Experience collaborating with kitchen and beverage teams
- Capable of using POS systems and managing wine-related logistics
Job Duties
- Manage and maintain the overall wine program
- Train new and current staff on wine knowledge and service
- Ensure quality control and adherence to wine service standards
- Coordinate wine purchasing, inventory monitoring, and cellar management
- Collaborate with the Beverage Director on menu updates and wine list curation
- Assist guests with wine selection and pairings to enhance their dining experience
- Oversee daily beverage management including vendor negotiations and compliance with health and safety regulations
