Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant certification in wine studies (e.g. WSET, CMS) preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as a sommelier or in wine service
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to beverage service
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand standards

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sommelier or in a similar wine management role
  • Strong knowledge of Italian and international wines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and lead staff effectively
  • Familiarity with beverage cost control and inventory management
  • Experience collaborating with kitchen and beverage teams
  • Capable of using POS systems and managing wine-related logistics

Job Duties

  • Manage and maintain the overall wine program
  • Train new and current staff on wine knowledge and service
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to wine service standards
  • Coordinate wine purchasing, inventory monitoring, and cellar management
  • Collaborate with the Beverage Director on menu updates and wine list curation
  • Assist guests with wine selection and pairings to enhance their dining experience
  • Oversee daily beverage management including vendor negotiations and compliance with health and safety regulations
