Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a sommelier or wine-focused hospitality professional in an upscale dining, hotel, or private club environment
  • Strong foundational knowledge of global wine regions, producers, varietals, and cellaring practices
  • Confident tableside communication skills with the ability to translate wine knowledge into warm, approachable member service
  • Experience with wine cost controls, purchasing, and inventory management
  • Certification from a recognized wine organization (CMS, WSET, SWE, etc) preferred but not required with equivalent experience
  • Ability to collaborate closely with culinary, beverage, and front-of-house leadership to maintain a cohesive program
  • Professional appearance, reliable work habits, and a genuine passion for wine, hospitality, and service excellence

Job Duties

  • Curate and maintain a balanced wine selection that reflects quality, craftsmanship, and the club's preference for wines with terroir expression, minerality, and elegance
  • Manage all aspects of wine inventory, including purchasing, receiving, organization, and tracking through approved cellar management systems
  • Provide polished, knowledgeable tableside service, including wine recommendations, pairing guidance, and member education
  • Lead wine training for front-of-house staff to ensure confident, consistent service and foundational product knowledge across the team
  • Maintain proper storage conditions, bottle rotation, and cellar organization to protect wine integrity and provenance
  • Assist with beverage cost targets, inventory accuracy, and quarterly audit expectations
  • Coordinate with the culinary and beverage leadership teams on pairing menus, by-the-glass selections, and seasonal beverage updates
  • Host and support wine-focused events, including tastings, educational sessions, and member-driven experiences
  • Uphold club standards for professionalism, hospitality, and member engagement in all interactions
