Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three to four years of fine dining leadership experience
- extensive knowledge of food and wine
- thorough understanding of fine dining service procedures and functions
- strong dedication to learning and professional growth
- excellent basic math skills
- proficiency in operating POS systems and Microsoft-based computer systems
- familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- impeccable grooming and hygiene
- responsive to constructive feedback
- MS Level II certification preferred
Job Duties
- Understanding and performing job duties according to BHC and restaurant service, food, beverage, and wine manuals
- recommending and selling wine to guests on the floor
- managing inventory and maintenance of the wine cellar
- overseeing and assisting the front-of-house team with all elements of service
- taking ownership of assigned stations including greeting, seating, running, bussing, and re-setting
- facilitating service in cooperation with other sommeliers, captains, and managers
- describing dinner features and menu updates to guests
- communicating VIP procedures and special requests with management and kitchen staff
- conducting continuous wine training and providing training for new hires
- participating in pre-shift meetings and presenting menu changes
- welcoming guests and ensuring professional and gracious service
- answering guest inquiries about menu items and wine selections
- liaising with servers to ensure seamless communication about guest needs
- assisting the chef in expediting food to the dining room
- ensuring food and products meet restaurant standards
- maintaining cleanliness and safety in the dining area and service stations
- complying with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations
