Job Requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and walk throughout shift, bend, pull, push, use stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to take direction and accept constructive criticism
- Warm, knowledgeable, and appreciative to guests
- Maintain station cleanliness
- Knowledge of cocktail recipes and wine by the glass facts
- Follow steps of service and adapt to guest needs
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years sommelier experience in a fast-paced restaurant
- Extensive knowledge and passion for wine, winemaking, beer, and spirits
- Ability to deliver high-quality guest experiences consistently
- Strong work ethic and team player
- Polished presentation and effective interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for problem resolution
- Fluency in English including reading, writing, and basic math for business
- Ability to operate a POS system
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, well-organized wine cellar
- Recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests
- Upsell tableside and retail wine offerings
- Keep staff informed of beverage changes
- Assist with monthly inventory
- Know and defend product brands
- Identify and report problems to management
