Job Requirements

  • maintain a clean and organized wine cellar
  • recommend and upsell wine and beverages
  • keep staff updated on beverage list changes
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • defend and know product brands
  • identify table and seat numbers accurately
  • maintain station cleanliness
  • have knowledge of cocktail lists including specifics and flavors
  • understand WBTG facts such as producer, variety, region, vintage, flavor profiles, and history
  • correctly perform bottle opening and tableside service
  • provide warm, knowledgeable guest interactions
  • accommodate guests and make them feel welcomed
  • maintain professional behavior and composure
  • report problems immediately
  • monitor service flow and timing
  • follow established steps of service
  • respond promptly to guest needs including order taking, food running, and bussing
  • manage station team activities effectively

Job Qualifications

  • at least 2 years sommelier experience in a fast-paced restaurant
  • extensive knowledge and genuine passion for wine, winemaking, beer, and spirits
  • ability to deliver high-quality guest experiences and exceed expectations
  • strong work ethic and team player mindset
  • exceptional guest service skills
  • strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities

Job Duties

  • maintain a clean, well-organized wine cellar in accordance with company standards
  • recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests
  • upsell tableside offerings and retail wine for guests to take home
  • keep staff informed of beverage changes on the wine list
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • defend product brands knowledgeably

  • know cocktail list details including drinks, specs, and flavor profiles
  • know producer, variety, region, vintage, flavor profiles, and history of wines
  • perform proper bottle opening and tableside service

  • immediately report problems to management
