Job Description

Job Requirements
- At least 16 years of age
- Significant background in participation teaching coaching scorekeeping or umpiring in baseball or softball
- Prior experience as sport or recreational activity assistant preferred
- Baseball Softball coaching certification preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must complete online application in full

- Agree to drug screening background and reference checks
- Willingness to attend required trainings
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of current baseball and softball rules and ability to interpret them
- Ability to understand and interpret tournament rules and County procedures
- Ability to schedule and reschedule games due to weather no-shows or other issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents spectators players staff officials and vendors
- Ability to handle difficult individuals professionally
- Ability to supervise staff and control game situations as needed
- Knowledge of field maintenance techniques including lining and dirt preparation
- Community CPR and First Aid certification desirable
- Baseball or Softball coaching and umpire certifications desirable
Job Duties
- Prepare site every game day for gameplay in a safe environment including field lining dirt raking and proper field maintenance
- Set up and break down temporary fencing for youth tournaments as needed
- Conduct pre-game meetings with officials tournament partners and site staff
- Start and end games at scheduled times
- Responsible for timekeeping and scorekeeping
- Direct games in compliance with tournament rules
- Maintain friendly positive relationships with players coaches staff officials vendors parents and spectators
- Ensure safety and general welfare of the tournament and participants
- Complete and submit accident and incident reports
- Return game site to condition found including field maintenance and equipment storage
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by coordinator
- Adhere to utility cart guidelines
- Supervise other tournament staff and keep them on task
- Attend all required staff trainings
- Maintain communication with tournaments and events coordinator throughout event
